I'm back on the scale, folks. Funny thing is, this entire 3-pound loss has happened since I started running with my friend about a week ago. Since meeting up with her I've felt a renewed commitment to my goals and have been very focused on the diet side of the equation.
This is one of those losses that I've been waiting for. 3 pounds in 5 days IS possible. It seems I've only been able to lose 1-2 pounds per week up until now. I know there is nothing wrong with that, but at my weight, I was expecting to have success more quickly - particularly at the beginning.
In order to keep track, I've decided that I need to set myself an ambitious goal. I've decided to jump on the bandwagon with Clyde's iTouch challenge and commit to losing 15 pounds by Labor Day. One month. 15 pounds. Doable?
Rae

3.2? Awesomeness! Yeah, I think running with a friend might help in the intensity department. Did you say she was faster (or was that another blogger who has a running friend, I can't keep these things straight ya know).
ReplyDelete15 pounds in a month...of course its doable...you may need to do some Biggest Loser gangsta type shit, but you'll get there.
Besides, what if it ends up being 12 pounds...would that be bad? You have to go for it...you just gotta!
Hi Rae, thanks for your nice comments on my blog. 15lbs in a month - keep up your running and be good with the food and that would definitely be do-able. Good luck, we'll be with you all the way :)
ReplyDeleteI like Kyle's comment - I have come to realize it's fine to set goals, but if we fall a little short, 13 instead of 15 in the month, we are still successes! You are a success Rae! xxx
ReplyDeletedo 30 day shred haha you will die. but its a great workout. im on day 3 today.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! Even better you're enjoying running. If it doesn't feel like drudgery, you're definitely on a path you can sustain. You should be so proud!
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect! I'm jealous...my best bud lives to far away to be my running buddy. I'm going to live vicariously through you! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the loss!! I bet if you keep up the hard work, you can lose 15 pounds by Labor Day :-) Just continue keeping that goal & number in mind!!
ReplyDeleteHi Raegan, If anyone can do it - YOU CAN!!!! Go for it girl!! Congrat on the weight loss. You ROCK!! Hugs!
ReplyDelete15 lbs is a stretch goal, I would think. Keep in mind, too, that your body will adapt to the running. As long as you won't be totally crushed if you hit, say, 10 lbs in a month (still awesome!), I think you should go for it.
ReplyDeleteYou can do eet (yes, that's totally a Waterboy reference)
wow 15 lbs in one month? That most I ever lost in a month was 10. 40 in 4 months, in fact. So for me, as far as I know, it is not doable. But Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteYay for 3.2 pounds down! It's nice having a workout partner because you can motivate each other.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of your running partner :) But I am soo happy for you! You can do it! Shoot for the moon, if you miss you'll still land among the stars! :)
ReplyDeletethanks for the comment, Rae. I am going to join you on the 20 minute lunch walk. I will grab a couple friends around the office and see if they want to join. Thanks for the idea. Continued success to you and I will also shoot for 15 pound loss by Labor day. :) Let's keep it going!!!

I like to set goals that are attainable and ones that have a short period of time attached to them that was I don't feel like I have a huge long road ahead of me. I like to set my goals weekly.
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the loss and on the running, having support from a friend is so helpful.
thanks for stopping by my blog I look forward to following your journey
I think you can do it! 15lbs is a harder goal but if you put your mind to it you can do it! I am at about 13-15lbs per month, so i know it can be done! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteWow! This really helped motivate me to not weenie out of my runs, even when it is hot! Great work!!
